In Burundi, land degradation is a concern for all development actors. This deterioration hampers the well-being of populations, especially rural populations. More than 90% of the Burundian population lives in rural areas. This degradation is reflected in the reduction of productivity linked to soil degradation and infertility.
To deal with these negative trends, Burundi has set itself targets to be reached by 2030, the main targets of which are included in this document.
