Burundi is very concerned about developing a strategic plan to adapt to the harmful effects of climate change. The development of this document on terrestrial ecosystems is one of the studies planned in this framework. This study on natural terrestrial ecosystems aims at the concerted assessment of their vulnerability to current climate variations and extreme weather events.

It also aims to assess regions where climate change increases associated risks. This study should also identify the main measures for adapting to climate change based on an assessment of vulnerability and adaptation strategies. Thus, on the basis of carefully selected criteria and through consultations and consultations between various stakeholders, the study should identify priority activities to meet the needs resulting from the adverse effects of climate change and ultimately formulate related projects.
