2021 Nov 17Mwaro: the VP of the Republic participates in the rehabilitation of the bridge connecting Rusaka and Gisozi
The Vice President of the Republic Prosper Bazombanza, a native of Mwaro province, participated on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in the rehabilitation of the bridge connecting Kizi Hill in Rusaka commune and Buburu hill in Gisozi commune, on the Kayokwe River, in Mwaro province. The track that connects the RN 18 to the town of Gisozi is now passable, after several years that the bridge was cut.
Responding to the requests of the populations of the two municipalities who requested support for the rehabilitation of this bridge, the Vice-President of the Republic Prosper Bazombanza asked them to look for trees to put in place of the collapsed bridge, which was done.
For his part, the Vice President of the Republic granted them as a contribution, 80 logs, 10 kg of nails and a salary for 3 carpenters in the rehabilitation of this bridge, personal support just to support this initiative of the populations of the two hills who thought of finding a temporary solution.
Prosper Bazombanza took this opportunity to invite the Director General of the Burundi Tea Office and that of PROTHEM (Promotion of Mwaro Tea) to come together to study ways and means to put the bridge back into more standard norms. For the Vice President of the Republic, the definitive solution is expected from the OTB and the PROTHEM Company so that this road and this bridge can support the traffic and especially the transport of green tea leaves operated by these two companies in the two municipalities.
On this occasion, the Vice President of the Republic announced that he was ready to support and be at the side of the inhabitants of the other hills of Mwaro province for initiatives of this kind, while specifying that he will give his support to someone who has already proven himself.
