2011 Aug 01Yearbook of agricultural statistics: year 2010
In Burundi, where agriculture generally occupies a prominent place in the Burundian economy, priority should be given to the development of agricultural statistics. Thus, in order to provide the user with most of the information available on the agricultural sector, the Statistical Institute of Economic Studies of Burundi (ISTEEBU) regularly produces national agricultural production statistics (Yearbook of Agricultural Statistics of ISTEEBU), in particular with regard to the most important crops.
The statistical data presented in this yearbook relate to:
- Food production year by year and season by season except for the year 2004 when there are only annual totals;
- The branches associated with the agricultural sector (livestock, fishing and forestry);
- Cash crops (coffee, cotton, tea, tea, sugar cane, rice, oil palm and cinchona).
