Scientific Bulletin of the National Institute for Environment and Nature Conservation: Editorial

The INECN Scientific Bulletin (currently OBPE) was created in May 2006 and in November of the same year, the first issue of the bulletin was released. The overall objective of creating the scientific bulletin at INECN is to set up an information system to disseminate scientific knowledge on biodiversity across the continent. The INECN scientific newsletter is annual. It covers ecology, biology, forestry, botany, zoology, zoology, biogeography, biodiversity conservation, socio-economics, pollution, phytochemistry, chemical nutritional analysis, toxicology, ethnobotany, etc. The newsletter will receive articles written in both English and French on the scale of the African continent. It is understood that all manuscripts submitted to the INECN Scientific Bulletin have not been published or will no longer be published in any other journal. A manuscript cannot exceed 20 pages. Exceptions are made in advance with the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief who will inform the Associate Editors. The manuscript may also be for a short text on one page or more that provides relevant scientific information. This information may in particular concern a supplement or a correction to a publication already made in this same bulletin. In addition to scientific articles resulting from scientific research, the newsletter will also contain a section called “Forum”. The section is intended to contain discussion articles, comments, or (technical) notes that discuss concepts, methods, visions related to the sciences covered by the newsletter. The Bulletin must therefore be published annually during the month of November and will contain all the articles submitted during the Bulletin year, which begins in November last year. Before the newsletter is produced in November, accepted articles will each time be published online. In parallel with the regular issue of the bulletin, it is also planned, according to needs and requests, to issue a special issue annually including articles on specific themes, conference proceedings, etc. The articles in the special bulletin are treated in the same way as those in the regular newsletter.

The publisher of the newsletter is the Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) of the National Institute for Environment and Nature Conservation (INECN). The CHM-Burundians is a center created in 2002 under the Belgian Partnership under the Convention on Biological Diversity. The center disseminates information online through the website: http://bi.chm-cbd.net hosted by the CHM-Belge of the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Brussels (IRSCnb). At the level of Burundi, the bulletin produced in hard copy is also submitted to:

- The INECN library (Currently OBPE);

- The Central Library of the University of Burundi;
