2013 Aug 01Development of integrated water resources management (IWRM) in the Dama-Murembwe pilot zone
To develop IWRM in Burundi, the National Water Strategy (2011-2020) plans to start by developing an IWRM concept and implementing it in a pilot sub-sub-basin.
The IWRM Working Group, in charge of developing the IWRM concept, followed the guidelines given in March 2012 by the Proseceau progress control, which recommended developing the concept for a practical problem - namely the protection of water sources - in a pilot area.
