For more than a year, Rusizi National Park has suffered unprecedented floods due to the rising waters of Lake Tanganyika. These floods have therefore affected biodiversity in two directions: a degradation of certain species such as shrubs (Acacia polyacantha) and a reappearance of some others (Cyperus latifolius).
