Commonwealth Forestry Association (CFA)

Sustainable forest management plays a central role in our future, requiring the training and development of forestry professionals. That's where the Commonwealth Forestry Association (CFA) comes in. It works in every corner of the Commonwealth and beyond to promote the sound management of trees and forests, and it does so in five main ways.

First, the CFA publishes world-class science in our specialized forest journal, the International Forestry Review, and the latest news and thoughts on forestry around the world in the CFA newsletter.

Second, CFA facilitates the networking of professional members and organizations and the exchange of knowledge through our quarterly newsletter.

Third, the CFA promotes professional excellence and career development through a range of awards, such as the Queen's for Forestry Award, the Young Forester Award, and the Young Scientist Research Award.

Fourth, CFA carries out a range of specific projects in the field that have been identified by its members.

And fifth, CFA promotes capacity building by helping to organize training courses, workshops, and conferences.
