The Global Climate Change Alliance+ (GCCA+) is a flagship initiative of the European Union that helps the most vulnerable countries on the planet meet the challenge of climate change. Launched in 2008 with pilot projects in only four countries, it has now become a major climate initiative that, to date, has funded over 70 national, regional and international projects in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific.

This EU initiative mainly helps Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to strengthen their resilience to climate change. GCCA+ also helps this group of countries to implement the commitments made under the Paris Climate Agreement (COP21), in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, new European consensus on development.
