The Institute of Ecology and Environment (INEE) was created to respond to the global challenges posed by global change and to promote research at the interfaces between major disciplinary fields, Earth, Life, Human and Social Sciences, to promote the emergence of Environmental Sciences as an integrated scientific field.

The Institute contributes to building and providing the scientific bases for better management of environments, resources and heritage, to preserve and strengthen biodiversity and ecosystem services, to disseminate concepts and knowledge in society, in all other scientific fields, among decision-makers as well as among actors.
