This report proposes an MRV system to be implemented in phases to ensure the integration of procedures into the institutional structures involved in the preparation of the biennial update report. The objective is to establish a framework for continuous improvement in order to ensure the sustainability of the system. In this regard, this report proposes a roadmap for implementing the MRV mechanism for GHG emissions and for monitoring Burundi's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), following the recommendations approved by the UNFCCC and the Conference of the Parties (CoP) to develop and implement MRV systems specific to mitigation measures in developing countries.
