Report

This report provides up-to-date information in 2010 on the state of important bird conservation areas (IBAs/Pas) in Burundi. It reflects site status, threats and conservation interventions at the five sites that have been designated as IBAs according to BirdLife International's criteria. The report relates to the areas of Kibira National Park, Ruvubu National Park, Rusizi Nature Reserve and Bururi Forest Nature Reserve where the results were evident.  The good results of this report are linked to increased awareness of riparian communities and the effective conservation actions taken by the institution in charge of the management of these protected areas.
